This article examines Nasir Kazmi’s ghazal, emphasizing its refinement and emotional depth in modern Urdu poetry. At a time when the ghazal faced challenges from modernist trends, Kazmi revitalized by blending classical tradition with contemporary sensibility. Influenced by Mir Taqi Mir, he developed a distinctive poetic voice marked by simplicity, musicality, and intensity. His poetry reflects themes of migration, loss, memory, loneliness, and existential longing shaped by displacement. Kazmi transforms personal and collective suffering into refined expression through restrained diction, evocative imagery, and symbolic richness. Rather than direct expression of grief, his ghazals achieve emotional resonance through lyrical balance and aesthetic control. The study highlights his creative use of traditional motifs and thematic coherence, expanding the expressive scope of the ghazal while preserving its classical essence. By harmonizing tradition and innovation, Nasir Kazmi ensured the relevance of the ghazal in modern Urdu literature and established himself as a leading poet
